Nike 20X1 Golf Ball

Revolutionary To Its Core – the Nike 20XI golf ball
with RZN Core Technology

Nike Open 2012 participants the first in Malaysia to experience distance and spin benefits of new 20XI ball

More than 130 golfers earned bragging rights as the first golfers in Malaysia to try the new Nike 20XI golf ball when they teed off in the Nike Open 2012 at the award-winning Kota Permai Golf & Country Club on January 17.

Without exception, the golfers were bowled over by the amazing performance benefits of the 20XI ball which utilizes the revolutionary new RZN Core Technology to maximize distance from the tee while providing shot-stopping control in the scoring zone. The new Nike 20XI ball is the result of collaborative research and development between Nike Golf's golf ball engineers and a team of material and science experts at DuPont. The game-changing technology replaces conventional rubber cores with a radical new resin material that is faster, lighter and engineered to produce increased distance and more controlled shots.

The competitors were joined by specially-invited guests comprising Nike Golf’s business partners as well as members of the media. Each participant received a Nike Golf shirt, Nike Golf cap, Nike Golf shoe bag and one sleeve each of the 20XI –X ball (which provides additional distance) and the 20XI-S ball (which generates increased spin).

The tournament was preceded by a lively product launch for retailers and media, outlining the key performance benefits of Nike Golf’s proprietary resin core technology (RZN Core Technology); i.e. more distance off the tee, straight ball flight and increased control around the greens. A launch gambit held at the first tee saw Nike Golf professionals teeing off with the 20XI ball, with a launch monitor set up to show the low spin rate and high velocity generated off the driver.

“It is not often that we get to be part of a true revolution in golf and the Nike 20XI ball is exactly that – a game-changing and revolutionary product,” said Peter Turnbull, General Manager of Nike Golf South East Asia/Pacific. “This is the ‘holy grail’ of golf balls as it is not only longer off the tee than any other golf ball but also spins more in the scoring zone.”

Attractive prizes from Nike Golf were presented to the top finishers in the various categories. Mohd Isa Abas topped the A Medal category with a score of 39 Stableford points, while Jolene Wong won the B Medal title with 36 points. They took home a VR Pro Limited Edition Driver and a trophy each. There were also novelty contests such as Longest Drive, Nearest To Line and Nearest To Pin, while games and lucky draws livened up the dinner prize presentation.

The 20XI ball will be available in golf shops nationwide on February 1, 2012.
